Averting Aggressive Rage in Child Victims/Witnesses of Family Violence

This workshop is based on the neurobiological research of Bruce D. Perry, Ph.D., M.D. of CIVITAS, which outlines the structural development changes in the brain when children live in persistently threatening environments.

This workshop focuses on children's need to grieve the many losses and traumas incurres through family violence. Because traumatic memories can be accessed only through pshchomotor activities, specific healing play, art, and literary strategies will be introduced which can promote self-recovery that leads to rebuilding embathy and hope.
